چکیده

Aims: Aim of this study was to elucidate association Pythium isolates without forming sexual structures on root rot hydroponically grown Welsh onion, as well clarify their taxonomic positions.
Place and Duration Study: Commercial hydroponic greenhouses in Hiroshima Prefecture, Prefectural Technology Research Institute, Osaka Metropolitan University, between March 2020 2021.
Methodology: Total 2,966 Pythium-like organs were isolated from the plant roots during survey period. All didn’t form any organs, separated into three groups based colony patterns agar media such cornmeal agar. Among them, 236 equally selected each groups. Since two thought be first records 17 representative examined morphology, hyphal growth response temperatures sequences ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions mitochondrial COI. Inoculation tests performed onion seedlings under a condition by using one isolate group.
Results: The identified Cluster B2a sp., B1d sp. Clade A ITS COI, respectively. belonged showed similar morphology other. confirmed that both cause 14 days after inoculation. stronger pathogenicity than A.
Conclusion: present firstly demonstrated which don’t associate onion.

Antagonistic Activities of Trichoderma spp. on Phytophthora Root Rot of Sugar Beet

Trichoderma species are among important antagonists of plant pathogenic fungi. The main purpose of this study was to evaluate the biocontrol potential of native Trichoderma spp. isolates from sugar beet fields against Phytophthora drechsleri and P. cryptogea, the causal agents of Phytophthora root rot of sugar beet. During 2007–08, 85 isolates of Trichoderma spp. from sugar beet fields in eight...

Timing Pseudomonas chlororaphis applications to control Pythium aphanidermatum, Pythium dissotocum, and root rot in hydroponic peppers

The ability of the microbial agent Pseudomonas (Ps.) chlororaphis Tx-1 to suppress Pythium aphanidermatum and Pythium dissotocum, and control root rot, was investigated as a function of time of agent application and pathogen inoculation in vegetativestage sweet peppers grown in single-plant hydroponic units. The agent was applied to the nutrient solution at 1 10 CFU/mL and roots were inoculated...

Occurrence of Anthracnose on Welsh Onion Caused by Colletotrichum circinans

Anthracnose occurred frequently on leaf sheaths of Welsh onions grown in Gangwha island, Korea in November, 2007. The disease incidence was as high as 30% in five fields investigated. A total of 20 single spore isolates of Colletotrichum species were obtained from the affected plants, and all the isolates were identified as Colletotrichum circinans based on their morphological and cultural char...
